Missed-call cost calculator for dental practices (free)
Three sliders, your real numbers, and an honest estimate of the revenue leaving your business through unanswered calls. Most owners have never put a figure on it. It is usually worse than they think.
How the calculator works
The formula is deliberately simple: missed calls per month × your normal conversion rate × average booking value. That is the revenue currently walking out the door. The potentially-recoverable figure then applies an illustrative recovery rate — 40% by default, which you can change with the slider — to estimate how much of that an instant text-back could rescue. Treat it as an estimate, not a promise.
Why response speed matters: replying within 5 minutes makes you roughly 100 times more likely to connect than waiting half an hour (Harvard Business Review, “The Short Life of Online Sales Leads”, 2011), and most callers who hit voicemail never leave a message — they simply ring the next result on Google.
No inputs are stored and nothing is sent to a server; the maths runs entirely in your browser.
Missed-call questions, answered
How much does a missed call cost a dental practice?
Multiply the calls you miss per week by your normal enquiry-to-booking rate and your average booking value. A practice missing 10 calls a week with a 30% conversion rate and £500 average bookings is losing about £6,500 a month. A single missed new-patient call for an implant or Invisalign enquiry can cost £2,400 or more.
How is the cost of a missed call calculated?
Missed calls per month × your normal conversion rate × average booking value = revenue lost to missed calls. The calculator then applies an illustrative recovery rate — 40% by default, which you can adjust — to estimate how much of that an instant SMS text-back could realistically rescue. It is an estimate, not a guaranteed return.
Do callers really not ring back?
Mostly, no. Industry studies consistently find that the large majority of callers who reach voicemail do not leave a message, and lead-response research (Harvard Business Review, “The Short Life of Online Sales Leads”, 2011) shows conversion drops sharply when the first response is slow. Callers simply dial the next practice on the list.
Is this calculator really free?
Yes. No signup, no email gate. It exists because most owners have never put a number on the problem; if your number turns out to be big, ZinqLeads recovers missed calls for a flat £199 a month and you can see it working on the live demo first.
Don't like your number?
ZinqLeads texts back every call you miss within 30 seconds and reports the revenue it recovers, in pounds, on your dashboard.
